NEPAL’S GEN-Z MOVEMENT
Nepal’s Gen-Z movement has overturned the government within 48 hours, but at a heavy cost: 72 lives lost and widespread property damage to official buildings and leaders’ residences.

The surge of youth energy reflects decades of frustration with centralized power, corruption, silenced voices, and it has pushed for better education, employment, public participation, transparency, and governance.

A new government has formed under former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, with several ministers already appointed and others to follow. Elections are slated within six months. By embracing grassroots involvement, equitable budgeting, and accountable leadership, this moment could become lasting progress.

Positive signs are already visible: communities are rebuilding damaged infrastructure, a spirit of unity and normalcy is returning, and people are resuming daily routines.

With major festivals approaching, there is renewed hope across regions. The local tourism sector is gearing up to welcome guests and showcase Nepal’s hospitality, as optimism for meaningful change grows in the days ahead.

A JOYOUS TEEJ CELEBRATION!

The Namaste family recently celebrated Teej with our daughters and women staff at Chilly Bar and Restro, Lakeside. Teej is a Hindu festival where Nepali women fast, pray, and celebrate to honor the union of God, seeking marital bliss and longevity for their husbands and their children. It’s a vibrant celebration of womanhood, marked by singing, dancing, and feasting.

Thank you to all who joined the Teej Dar dinner at Chilly. Your vibrant energy turned the chilly evening into a warm, joyful celebration. We missed those unable to attend.

It was an unforgettable night of singing, dancing, and togetherness. Thank you for making this festival so special!

17TH TAILORING BATCH GRADUATES!

We are thrilled to celebrate the successful completion of our 17th Tailoring Training batch! Since May 15th, 2025, 11 single women embarked on a journey toward financial independence. We proudly congratulate the 10 graduates who have gained essential tailoring and business skills, and we look forward to welcoming back one trainee in the next batch.

A heartfelt thank you to the Namaste Foundation, Netherlands, for their 15+ years of steadfast partnership in empowering women and transforming communities.

With this batch, we have now supported over 315 single women, providing them with skills, hope, and a path to self-reliance.
