From the organization…

Namaste and a very warm greeting from Namaste Community Foundation-Nepal. NCF Nepal is proud to share that, due to your kindness, we have been supporting the underprivileged children and people of Nepal since 2003. This is our Fall edition of our Newsletter and we have tried to cover all we have done during the past few months.

Make this Christmas and New Year’s special…

Before moving on with our past activities, let me remind you, we will soon be celebrating Christmas and New Year’s and we thank God for providing us this opportunity. We know Christmas possesses a very high value to all of you and that many have probably already started your preparation for the holiday season. As many of you have helped us in the past during Christmas and New Year’s, we are again asking for your continued support for this holiday season. Years past, some have sent special packages of school supplies, backpacks, clothing, bedding, etc. Others have given cash to help purchase warm clothing for the winter season. Please help to make this holiday season special for our children.

NCF Nepal would also greatly appreciate it if you could refer our organization to others in your nearby clubs, churches and schools, who would be willing to support the underprivileged children and women of Nepal. We hope that you join us in believing that "Together we can go a long way to get the underprivileged children out of the poverty cycle".

Relaunching of ‘Walk for Kids’

As you already know, because of the earthquake, the unofficial blockade by India and an unfavorable condition around the Annapurna Circuit, we were not able to execute the Walk for Kids 2015. But, in April 2017, we will finally be able to make it happen. Up to now, we have succeeded in raising 35% of the total funds but still need to raise 65% more to reach our goal. With this newsletter, we request that you support our campaign, Walk for Kids 2017, by sponsoring a specific distance of our trek or by asking your friends to support us. Help needed for rebuilding of schools…

Like many other years, we are undertaking additional projects to help and support those in need. At the current time, the most urgent need, for the Nepalese people, is the reconstruction of schools destroyed by the earthquake. We are focusing on this effort and have raised 15,000 euros so far but we need much more financial help so we can create better learning places for our children. Only with your help can this be accomplished. If you would like to be part of this noble cause, please don’t hesitate to contact us ([email protected]).

Fall Activities…

Being Festive (Dashain & Tihar Celebration)

Lots of festivals are celebrated in Nepal but, among them, Dashain and Tihar have their own value and importance. Whoever the person is and whatever religion s/he belongs to, Dashain and Tihar bring a different charm with them. No one in Nepal is exempt from the Dashain and Tihar celebration.

In the same way, we, at Namaste Community Foundation-Nepal, celebrated both festivals with much joy, love and affection. Some children went to their relatives in their villages to celebrate their Dashain and some stayed at NCF-Nepal, where we together celebrated with some blessings from elder ones. Similarly, during Tihar all the boys at NCF-Nepal got tika and blessings from their sisters. Tihar is a festival known for making a strong bond between brother and sister. During Tihar every sister prays for the longevity of their brother's life.

Tiffin Sponsor

16 Oct 2016, NCF-Nepal would like to thank Maris Monnich & Davida Patzak for sponsoring wonderful tiffin for the entire Namaste family. We really enjoyed the dumplings (mo:mo, a favorite of all Nepalese), pizza and a pan cake. They also supported in other ways by buying some clothes, taking the children on outings, etc. We appreciate their time and good works here at Namaste. Thank you for being part of our Namaste family.

Experiencing Europe

This year, myself (Man Singh Chaudhary, Manager) and Mr. Bishow Raj Paudel (Board Treasurer) had the opportunity to meet our sponsors and well-wishers from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands from the 16th September to 3rd October 2016. We also managed to participate in some fundraising events and share our activities among different kind-hearted people. Being our first European visit, it was both a time of learning and enjoyment.  We are very thankful to Namaste Community Foundation for providing this lifetime experience and to all those people who cared for us like family and made this trip a wonderful journey.

8th Anniversary

Onni Children's House has successfully completed its 8th year of establishment. This successful completion of eight years was celebrated among the children, staffs and the Director, Ms. Tuuli (Wind of Change International- Australia/Finland). The partnership between NCF-Nepal and Wind of Change International has become a very close, strong relationship. Thanks to Wind of Change International for their continuous support and we look forward to even more cooperation and support in the near future in this humanitarian field.

Beginning of a new chapter

Namaste Community Foundation congratulates Sangita Majhi (House sister) for her new journey in life. She married Mr. Dipesh B.K on 16th November 2016. They are now starting a new chapter in their lives together! On this auspicious occasion, we, at Namaste Community Foundation, would like to wish both of them a very happy married life and may they be successful in their future endeavors.

Monitoring visit from Global Development Group

A monitoring visit by Mr. Daniel from the Global Development Group was done at Namaste Children’s Home and Onni Children’s House. This monitoring visit has provided us with ways to improve ourselves and has also created a platform to strengthen our competitiveness in the international arena. We are very happy to have Daniel here as the representative of Global Development Group and would like to thank him for his valuable input.  Likewise, two of our children Narayani Adhikari and Bishnu Gurung successfully passed their high school. They will be soon starting their university education. We would like to first congratulate them for their success and wish them a very best of luck for their future endeavor.

Visitors from Netherlands

Bobby & Wijtze from visited NCF, Pokhara and WEP, Ghachowk on 7th September 2016. They spent some time at our organization and also sponsored some bricks and donated some kitchen equipment to the WEP project.
